The following points need to be borne in mind by prospective visitors:

  • Rye is a two ball course, and only foursomes (alternate shots) or singles will be permitted.
  • No buggies are used at Rye, due to the special ecologically sensitive areas but trolleys are always allowed, and may be hired from the Professional. Caddies may also be booked through him.
  • The clubhouse is open from 8.30 am daily, and closes at 7.00pm, (earlier in the winter).
  • Catering is available on the following basis:

    Coffee from 8.30 am. Bacon rolls 8.30 – 11.00
    Lunch from 12.00 to 2.15
Lunches vary from light buffets to full roasts or hot dishes depending upon the day.
  • Dress: A high standard of dress is expected both on and off the course. In the bars and dining room, jackets must be worn with either a tie, cravat or polo neck shirt after 10.00 am. Prior to play, golfing attire may be worn in the clubhouse to register or take coffee.
  • On the course, if shorts are worn, they must be correctly tailored and worn with full length socks with a turn over top.
  • If mobile telephones are carried they must be fully switched off. They may not be used anywhere in the clubhouse or on the course (except in an emergency), but may be used in the car park, preferably in a vehicle. A pay phone is available internally.
